I feel very strongly that wars should not be babied by admins step by step. I agree perhaps that the leaders have to meet before the war and agree on the rules of war, but admins don't need to be involved at all. The KO rules that we role play suggests we want this to be realistic, so coming to an admin to manage a war seems redundant and breaks role play. I would suggest an admin would only need to be involved in the war at the beginning to make sure it is a just cause and make sure the leaders meet before the war. But this thing where both sides have to agree to a war is ridiculous.

It's an HCRP server. The main point of role playing is to entertain people acting as your character. If the other side doesn't agree on the war, then that would just be causing them displeasure and won't be fun for everyone. This is also to ensure that the wars are rp backed and not just some rdm, "oh I just wanted to um fight some peeps", kinda war.

I would agree that an admin would have to legitimize the reason for war, but the other side agreeing to it? Seems a bit odd. Many things will cause displeasure, like dying of hunger, getting robbed, drowning, etc. Alot of the game is not getting your way and just like in real life, both sides did not always agree to the war. I think a legitimate and realistic system would just be to make it hard to find a GOOD reason for war, but mutual agreement to wars breaks rp. Do you think we could at least put a poll up asking if both sides should have to agree to a war? (and specify it will be difficult to find a reason for war)

We won't always be there to witness rp, so the only way we can monitor the legitimacy of it is by accepting the reasons after the factions themselves have.

If the other side doesn't agree on the war, then that would just be causing them displeasure and won't be fun for everyone. This is the single biggest problem that every self-proclaimed hardcore role-play server faces. Admins grant you the ability to avoid role-play. If everything that happens on the server has to be consensual, then you never actually have to play your role in any scenario in which you are at a disadvantage. Being another character does not necessarily translate to pleasure, as truly developed characters have to face hardship. This is what makes them interesting, because this is what shapes them. How they face that hardship is certainly up to them, but it can't be calling on admins when they feel like avoiding it in its entirety.
