Backround/History:
Born under the Makerist name Vasily Marin in the northern Vaegir city of Rivacheg, the young Cornelius was borne to a prostitute and an intellectual holy man. His parents did not ever really have time for him so he spent most of his childhood dirty as a street urchin, scrounging for whatever he could get and playing in the streets of the city. His mother cared for him whilst his father educated him after learning of his existence whenever he had time, however neither of them could fully devote themselves to giving him a proper upbringing. Sometimes he saw highborn children on the streets and greatly envied seeing their privilege and wealth. All this continued normally until the age of thirteen when he ventured onto a strange Nordic vessel docked in Rivacheg.
Little did the young Vasile know that he walked straight onto a pirate vessel. However, the captain of the ship he ran into, Ion Mota was an extremely friendly, sociable, and charismatic man. He took Vasily on as a cabin boy and explained the life he was embarking on in full detail before taking him on. Vasily seeing the riches others had and after Ion's amazing pitch of the gold and booty that awaited; the preteen was enamored. He spent the next four years on this vessel committing various acts of piracy and brigandry under Ion Mota. Despite Mota being a rugged and dirty man, Vasile noticed that he was quite intelligent and watched how well Captain Mota inspired his men, leaning from this pitch and it having a profound impact him, seeing how men's hearts could be inspired.
This life of debauchery made Vasile into the hedonist Cornelius would become in his later youth, him wanting to enjoy himself to the fullest before death.
Vasile really did enjoy his existence on the seas, but did not want to be limited by it or entrapped. He decided to set out on his own to make a name for himself and in the future lead his own band of men inspires by the acts of Captain Mota. He was dropped off at the port of Nordland, the ancient homeland of the brutal Clan Tinadel. Here, he peddled goods and tried to make a meager amount of coin for himself. His life completely changed when he met the savage Jarl Laban Tinadel. After noticing Vasile's wit and handiness with the blade Laban decided to take the boy on and see if he had what it took to become a Blooded member of the Clan. Tinadel boys are horribly abused by their fathers throughout most of their childhood in order to forge tough killing machines. Vasily did not have this background so for him life in attempt to obtain the right to bear Laban's last name was incredibly tough. His lust for power and a better name for himself kept him going through the times when only willpower could, and his intelligence kept him away from challenges and hardships he did not absolutely have to take on his journey. After getting through the final trial and becoming an official Blooded, Laban after seeing his smarts decided to take him into his own family and make the young man the Magistrate or Law Speaker of his clan in addition to being an active and skilled member of its military. He took on a new name symbolizing his rebirth into the clan. Cornelius Tinadel, a name that would strike fear into the hearts of many in the future.
Cornelius reacted naturally to him taking on so much power at such a young age and completely abused his ability to make laws and manage coin. His Vaegir nationality and Makerist upbringing did serve as an obstacle in the Nordic clan that followed the heresy of Jama the god of narcotics, sex, and bloodshed, however through his social skills he was able to befriend the clan's top members and become very close with them.
The Tinadels, after their recent civil conflicts with their once close allies the Tredians and the Vordiacs, having a lot of military might were looking to expand. The Tinadels did not have a very large army, however what they did have was extremely skilled in combat due to their upbringing. The grand Tinadel army was known to decisively defeat forces more than four times their size, making them very infamous. Cornelius knew this and set their eyes upon a series of islands that were known to be very rich in resources known as the Archipelago of Yore. There was only one issue with this conquest however. The island was controlled for many decades before by an independent Swadian barony known as House Dale, and their allies the Gillains and Tars. It was also home to some mercenaries and others looking for their own gain. Before bringing his Tinadels to this land however, Cornelius decided to play a mind game with the government of the island in order to weaken them before the assault. Because the Dales were in power for so long he decided to come in and use their own people against them. Cornelius recruited his old friend Captain Ion Mota to do this. Captain Mota entered the Dales and was quickly promoted to admiral, however, he used his new position to inflict a lot of trauma on the commoners of the island, executing many for no reason, burning down farms for fun, and having all of the ills that he and his very small band of pre-invasion Tinadels were causing fall upon the Dales, creating a huge amount of problems for them with the common populace. As a side note, the crew of Mota was beginning to take actions that were warned by Cornelius and began completely butchering and looting the isles. His foolish actions made him be executed by the swindling Gillains before he could play the Admiral of Dale card to save him. This made Cornelius feel a bit sad but he also knew that he warned Mota from taking to obvious actions so it was his own fault. This however is another tale for another time.
It was finally time for the main Tinadel force to land. These savage Nords, greeted as heroes and liberators of the land (unbeknownst to the populace that their rule of Laban and the iron fist of Cornelius would prove much more abusive to them in the future than the Dales have ever been), easily decimated the much larger Dale force in the capital of Yore and took over the castle. Dale nobility miraculously survived and were taking refuge with the knave Stannis Gillain, ready to mount an attack to retake the capital. Because of this, Cornelius ordered a martial law put into place for a short time, nobody was permitted in and out of the city. Many tried entering and many were executed by Cornelius for this, including Stannis Gillain who thought he would be sneaky entering and plotting in the tavern, but somehow used black magic to teleport away from the menacing Tinadels surrounding him and for some reason faced no punishment from the administrative gods for his actions against nature. The five main Tinadels, Laban, Bubba and his son Magafox, Ryan, and Cornelius left the castle after an army ten times the size of theirs attacked. Despite many, many, Dales and Gillains being slaughtered, they chose to tactically retreat after causing them much damage.
If this did not spell enough trouble for the old rulers, a new power was also arising on the isle. The "Kingdom" of Maddox, a strange people with a strange religion from a strange land led by the mad queen Elizabeth Maddox was beginning to make incursions on their land. However, these Maddox were never able to give a decisive victory to the hoard of Maddox and Gillain forces. This all changed when they were led by the ferocious Tinadel huskarls. In the conquest of the capital, the axe of Bubba Tinadel cleaved many a Dale skull. After the final battle, the Dale nobility and the remnants of their destroyed army was cornered on a rock formation on the main island. Instead of wasting more lives both Elizabeth Maddox and Carter Dale agreed to have a final duel of four to end the conflict. In selection of the champions, the Maddox chose their best fighter and three Tinadel huskarls, Laban, Bubba, and Magafox to face the Dale noble family. It was absolutely no contest. Elizabeth Maddox did not even give Carter and his wife Alexa the decency to die together. She burned them both at separate stakes impaled by them in an offering to her strange fire deity. The famous poet of the time Atli Red reflected on the events he witnessed:
The victorious Maddox, now took residence in the capital's castle while the Tinadels were left to run amuck throughout the entire isles as they pleased. Laban married Elizabeth and a very unconventional alliance was formed.
Cornelius purchased a huge manor at dirt close to nothing from a terrified Maddox official to symbolize his newly found power.
The Tinadels didn't really care for ruling the city from the castle as they saw it as an unnecessary work load that they didn't want. However, Cornelius, being the smart one of the bunch wanted the entire island for himself and was willing to do all the managing work that came with the government.
All of this comes later, from his manor, Cornelius did whatever he wanted with his power, power that he never before had in his life and loved abusing. As magistrate, he even sentenced a poor girl to be raped by him and the grizzly Bubba Tinadel for the simple crime of altering a Tinadel banner at the island's old port in attempt to take control of a building for her commercial purposes.
A saying began to emerge throughout the land, "Cornelius Tinadel always gets what he wants" be it money, power, or a woman. If he could not beguile these things to him with his intelligent Vaegir charm he would take them with brute Tinadel Nordic force. Cornelius became very, very rich. Through illicit dealings of duplicating his coin through counterfeit denars and through other businesses such as the inn which he turned into a brothel, he utilized his mind to amass a very large amount of wealth. He would appear much more refined than his brethren with his manor, armors (his favorite being an elite and very ornate Vaegir plate that only a boyar could afford.), dress, and even the way he carried himself about.
Cornelius Tinadel took a lady of high rank to wed named Jessie when Elizabeth Maddox recommended him to her. He grew tired of her very quickly, her being quite jealous of him and his many lovers and Cornelius took an Makerist bishop that was a personal friend of his to annul the marriage for bogus reasons.
Alas, Magafox Tinadel became very jealous of Cornelius, seeing him as not Nordic and a fake Tinadel. He came to blows with Cornelius many times and threatened his life.
Life returned to the norm for Cornelius Tinadel taking permanent residence once more in his manor, and him doing whatever he pleased once more without having to worry that his flesh and blood was in enemy hands. During the time after Cornelius found comfort in Freya and a lame Sarranid girl (despite having a deep mistrust of Sarranids) he took into his manor to care for named Lemalla Argose. A big problem began to emerge however when a woman that Lemalla had a very strange and unnatural relationship with before Lemalla's head hit a stone rendering her an animal in all but form. Alas, now Cornelius was locked in a paternity battle with this lesbian Nordic woman named Kaetelli.....Argose (JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS HUEHUEHUE). If this was not enough, a doctor who also wished for sexual relations with Lemalla began to appear in the picture, Kaetelli approving of his visits yet it is unknown if she knew his intent. One day, when Cornelius heard euphoric moans from Kaetelli's lesbian cabin, he thought they were those of Freya who began following a decadent life as Cornelius did in his youth yet Cornelius threatened her partners with impalement if him or his spies caught wind of her doing these sorts of things again. Alas, Cornelius Tinadel took some of the most feared Tinadels, kicked in the door to the farm, but found that the doctor was coitusing Lemalla instead. This sight was better than what he thought he would see but still sent him into a visible spiraling rage. He proceeded to grab this doctor by the neck, claiming he would take his life for stealing the maidenhead of someone in his household without the consent of the magistrate, this being a law he made up on the spot to suit his feelings, something he frequently did. The doctor begged for his life claiming that somebody raped her instead and took her virginity. Cornelius saw through these lies however and was about to take the man out to be hanged when Laban came in in a miraculous intervention and saved his life. Cornelius felt quite betrayed by one of his closest friends and began acting erratically claiming he was once more Vasile. This surgeon manipulated Laban with his lying ways and became the court physician of the Tinadels despite a man named Alubric Leatherwood being more than capable, around for much longer, and much more liked. Cornelius recruited the help of Laban's new wife, Isabella Tinadel and her along with one of Laban's closest friends and proteges Martin Redwood, hunted down this doctor in the wilderness and hanged him from the ruins by a wire until his head was separated from his body.
Kaetelli was found by Tinadel spies and thrown into the dungeons of the capital of the isles along with Lemalla to rot in separate cells. Cornelius in his rage threw the doctor's severed head at Lemalla in her cell.
The next morning A Swadian heir asked for audience in an extremely weakened and shocked Cornelius' manor when Erin was off doing whatever she did. He told him That her new name was Erin and that she saved his life from a Khergit hoard by trading a large black book a new method for smiting weapons that became prevalent in Swadia. The back of this book was a detailed account of Erin's life as well, and this young noble became infatuated with her. He never knew what Erin thought of him and sought Cornelius out when he found out that this man was her father. He informed Cornelius that his daughter Erin was trained in many different poisons and became quite a skilled assassin, serving his father and others. Cornelius told her that Erin returned to the island and gave him the blessing to peruse his daughter as long as he could make her finally truly happy, begging that if he succeeded to make her love her father as well.
Days later, Erin Tinadel appeared in Cornelius' house red with rage. She screamed that she saw the Swadian leaving the manor and claimed that Cornelius was attempting to use him against her for his own benefit. Azula tripped Cornelius and mounted him, putting a dagger to his neck and giving him the choice if he wanted to lose his balls or hands. She stood in this position as Cornelius tried to calm her down and be reasonable, but her grotesquely enraged face was unyielding. Cornelius closed his eyes and was prepared for what was to come, never being able to bring himself to harm his daughter. However, when he felt the dagger move towards his neck to cut it out, he made the split second decision that he could not leave Freya, the daughter who truly loved him, alone in the world. He jerked Erin's hand out of the way and pushed her off, reaching for his disarmed bastard sword and entering a fight with her.
Bla bla bla she faked her death, lots of drama, he went crazy and began being a despot cutting out tongues fior fun but then she made a big return and everything was back to normal.
He then met the Silvyns, had an arranged marriager with Kiara the sister of their lord, the House Silvyn tried to kill him but he won over Kiara's heart who snitched on the Silvyn plots after some hot sex. His intelligence from Alesksandur Irka also told him of this so he and Laban amassed a huge army, slaughtered the entire house Silvyn, and Cornelius personally gave their lord Kiara's brother a blood eagle to make an example out of would be assasins. This still strained the marriage and Kiara ran off, most likely pregnant.
Equipment: This is Cornelius' signature appearence that he always wears and has become a part of his terrifying persona: War Mask, greatsword, Vaegir elite armour, gauntlets, plate boots, elite scimitar, and Vaegir kite shield.

Power

All of these problems solved themselves when the mental health of Elizabeth Maddox truly began to degenerate. Cornelius was alone in her castle speaking to his wife in the keep. Elizabeth seeing this opportunity to betray the only reason she was in power in the first place, but a huge limit on her power, ordered her men to leave no Tinadel survivor in her midst. Cornelius' training as a Tinadel truly payed off here as him and Bubba fought through many Maddox soldiers and wounding Elizabeth, slaying them all and meeting with the rest of the Clan in the streets of the city after their escape from the castle. Cornelius used his charm to once more rally the commoners to his side, blaming the Maddox for all their ills many of which he himself caused. They stripped the Maddox cancer from the castle and finalized his power, Elizabeth being presumed dead but actually having escaped through the subterranean dungeons of the castle that led to the arena (where he sentenced two brothers to fight to the death for one's freedom once instead of spending the rest of their lives in hard labor), which led to the outside world. Shockingly, Magafox Tinadel was seen fighting with the Maddox forces against Cornelius. When this final betrayal to the clan was made, Bubba, his own father challenged Magafox and slayed him in a duel.
Cornelius Tinadel continued to callous and have absolute authority over the lives of the people for many years, abusing his power especially now that Laban's banners flew over the keep

Daughters
Without a word Azula Maddox disappeared from the island once more, leaving Cornelius and Freya once more alone him despairing despite the victory. Yet, Cornelius Tinadel now felt much more at ease because he now knew that she could survive on her own in the world and was nowhere near Maddox hands. Cornelius' life was extremely happy up to the point he found out that Elizabeth Maddox kidnapped a child he had by some field doctor and camp follower and was a ward with the alive and escaped Maddox court for five years since her birth when she was taken. In fact, this was a very sad part of the life of Cornelius Tinadel. His heart sank the moment he saw her black hair blue eyes and spitting image of himself surrounded by Elizabeth and her family, something he could do nothing about as he had not way of reaching them escaping on a vessel. Azula Maddox, named so by her kidnappers were trying their hardest to brainwash the child into hating her father and the Tinadels, outlawing all of the crimes they committed against people, especially the wrongdoings of Cornelius, never showing his generosities or good qualities. Cornelius, remembering not the shortcomings of his own whore mother and priest father but their occasional familial love, vowed he would win his daughter no matter how many people he had to slaughter in the process. With the help of Jarl Laban Tinadel, he amassed a glorious army of Tinadels, Tredians, and other fearsome allied warriors citing that the Maddox needed to be fully exterminated from the world only a handful of high ranking Tinadels knowing his true reasons. This glorious group of some of the most dangerous soldiers sought out Maddox and their allied Hallbjorn forces wherever they were and exterminated them in a long and brutal war where many perished. However, despite Cornelius’ martial prowess he was unfortunately put between an anvil and hammer here. When the Tinadels, Tredians, and other allies were gaining too much ground, Anna Maddox, another ward Elizabeth kidnapped at youth and Azula’s older sister exchanged many letters with Cornelius affirming that when the Tinadel supreme victory came, she would die defending Elizabeth‘s house and take Azula‘s life despite loving her dearly, citing that death was a much better fate than living under the Tinadel regime. This idea that his daughter was so close to him yet so far tortured Cornelius. His only solace was another child he had by the same mother, Azula‘s little sister who was named Freya by her Rhodok but Nordic educated mother. She was very young and reached Cornelius through the mother‘s old contacts when she fell ill. They lovingly embracing in the church on the city of Yore. Freya loved her father dearly from what her mother said about him despite also not seeing her father until the age of five. Freya kept Cornelius strong and made him vow that he would use the wit that got him out of so many situations and was so lauded by his family and clan to find a way out of this situation and have Azula safe in his arms along with Freya.
His first wife Jessie, was still an active member of the Maddox court, her disagreements with Cornelius and his forced annulment being well known. Despite all of this, this woman for some reason was still loyal to him and spied on the Maddox. The moment Cornelius waited for had arrived. After seven years of conflict he receives word from his old wife that the twelve year old girl managed to flee the Maddox court and her whereabouts were completely unknown. Cornelius feigns weakness and spread out forces, tricking Elizabeth to expose herself in a reconquest of Yore. This would prove to be a fatal mistake as her army ran headfirst into an allied Tinadel infantry blitzkrieg at the castle of Yore after they are baited within its walls. We must take a short break however and analyze two crucial events that unfolded before the battle, Cornelius captured Anna Maddox, and apologized for not being able to fix her brainwash despite trying. Cornelius explained that he would never let his daughter turn into her, and even if Azula called Anna sister, he took her head with a great sword and gave her a decent Orthodox Makerist funeral in the Vaegir tradition. Also, minutes before the attack, Azula made herself known to only Jessie, her ready to watch the onslaught from the top of the church that Cornelius met Freya. The only message she had for her father was:
“Maybe you shall kill mother, maybe you will die, I do not care.”
Cornelius, despite vowing to end the lives of thousands to regain his daughter didn't realize that his efforts, the war, and everything completely destroyed the once happy girl and made her childhood quite a horrible one. The girl cared for nobody, she hated her father by blood Cornelius and also hated her mother, the Queen of Maddox.
He only had a glimpse of her on top of the church, her words ringing in his head before he took position and charged at the front of the Tinadel vanguard, him enraged and saddened and amounting so many kills that he impressed all. The now completely insane Elizabeth Maddox, having murdered her two closest ministers before for apparently no reason, saw the end approaching and took her own life along with the rest of the Maddox line by jumping off a bridge on the island.

Power II, Lame Girls, and other Miscellaneous Events.
The Return
Azula Maddox is waiting in the manor of Cornelius when he gets home late in the night. After six years of more separation, Cornelius was ecstatic to see her. The feeling was not mutual as it was very obvious that she still hated Cornelius and was only really there because she had nowhere else to go. He woke up Freya and the three reunited epically, the older daughter not knowing at all that she had a sister related to her by blood and finally showing a glint of emotion on her cold and lifeless face. She was especially shocked that her sister loved her father above all else, not knowing at all how anyone related to him could love a murderer and a rapist (Azula knew that the Maddox propaganda may have been a bit off, but regardless it was grounded in a very obvious truth, truth that Freya's and Azula's mother overlooked when she constantly told Freya stories of all of Cornelius' positive qualities instead of his faults). That night when Freya left them alone, Cornelius apologized for the war he waged to get her back, the war that put her in a lot of pain and begged her forgiveness saying that he was a grief stricken father doing whatever he saw was best. While Cornelius was kneeling down and not looking, Azula takes a dagger coated with an oily black substance and traced a cut on his brow claiming she forgave him and calling him father for the first time. Azula poisoned Cornelius with the extract of the Sarranid stone-fish, a toxin so vile it puts those afflicted by it in so much pain that they beg for the amputation of the afflicted limb. For eight hours throughout the night the bloodcurdling screams of Cornelius kept the neighbors awake, who simply thought it was another Tinadel torturing of another subject outside of the dungeons and were too afraid of Cornelius and his family to intervene or investigate what was happening. Azula vanishes once more after poisoning Cornelius.
Kiara
