Backround/History:
Nicholas Vanderhart was born on a brutal winder day in the industrial sector within the city of Tihr. He is the youngest son of Eirik and Kari Vanderhart out of five children, who are all male. Nicholas' father was the owner of a large weapons factory, which distributed only the finest weapons to the great armies of the north and to smaller companies in order to profit. Growing up was very harsh for Nicholas. He and his brother, Bjorn, were the youngest of the children, thus they were picked on and tortured by their older brothers. Nicholas' parents, however, left the situation to solve itself, as they thought it would make the boys stronger. Nicholas' father, Eirik was a very wealthy man, and he hopped only for success within those carrying on his name and legacy, so he sent all of his children, nieces, nephews, and other young people within the House Vanderhart to the best schools within Calradia. Eirik's eldest son, also named Eirik, was sent to be educated by the Vaegars. His second oldest, Dominik, was sent along with Eirik. The third son, Gunnar, was staying within nordic territories to be educated. Bjorn and Nicholas, the two youngest family members, were sent to Swadia. There was a problem, though. Because Eirik favored his eldest son the most, most of the money was spent on him, leaving the remaining four children to accept whatever they receive. The children did not go to bad schools, though, but they were moderately decent. Bjorn and Nicholas did not have enough money within their budget to make any major financial decisions. Food, clothing, shelter, and education were the only things fitting within their budget. As the family gathered one last time for dinner before each child was sent off to school, prayers and other ceremonies were conducted. They thanked higher beings for the luck and fortune, they thanked them for the food on their plates, and most of all they thanked them for having each other. It was a heartwarming conduction, but after that no words were said during dinner. Their father was very strict, and very warrior-like. To strengthen the children, he did not allow them to say goodbye to each other. Three carriages awaited outside. One headed to the Vaegar school, the second to the nordic school, and the third to the lands of Swadia. Each boy boarded accordingly and looked at the path before them, not looking back at their parents who they would see in years to come. Nicholas was six years of age at this time.
Ten years would pass since he left his homeland and family and Nicholas would be a rowdy teenager roaming the streets of Praven. He and his brother had a small home within the city. The school they attended would be a few streets away from their home, a market place two buildings down, and a clothing center on the end of the street. Nicholas was quite the womanizer, while Bjorn was awfully shy and quiet to people. The two boys were different in every which way. Bjorn was shy, yet he was very lazy and arrogant. Nicholas, on the other hand, was outgoing, social, neat, and if he said he would do something he would do it. That is his only flaw, though... saying he could do things. If he were to jokingly say he could steal an apple from a food stand, people would mock him until he would do it. Just to prove himself for no reason whatsoever, he would give into temptation and do it. At school, Nicholas predominately studied business and economics so he may take after his father and follow in his footsteps. Bjorn, however, was studying political science and one day planned to be a noble's servant. One day Nicholas came home, he looked frightened. Bjorn had asked what had happened, and as it turns out a man is trying to find and kill Nicholas for cheating him in a bargain. Bjorn did not ask what the bargain included, but he knew he had to do something. First, he put Nicholas into the basement of the home, where he hid for hours. The basement was cold and dark, and Nicholas was wondering where Bjorn was. Out of worry for Bjorn, he climbed out of the basement and onto the main floor. What he found was horrifying... it was Bjorn laying dead on the floor with a smashed skull. Nicholas dropped to his knees, held Bjorn in his arms, and began to weep. The death of his brother was too much to bear, so with a little extra money he made, he went to a local clan and ordered a hit on the man who killed his brother. After the hit was ordered, Nicholas never heard from the clan again, but he knew they took care of it. Although the man would be killed, Nicholas felt emptiness within him. Nicholas pulled out of school after he wrote a letter to his family explaining what happened, and he used his remaining school money to create his own labor company known as Vanderhart & Co. It specialized in mining, weapon forging, food production, and farming. The business was very successful, and after gaining enough money, Nicholas expanded the company. It reached every territory and made a fortune. The company was only going up, and Nicholas himself gained a bit of money just for himself. In time, all the gold Nicholas received got to his head. He gained so much money and paid his workers so little, so in order to prevent mental issues involving finances, he decided to spent a bit more on salaries, quality, effort, production, and other things that involved his business. This caused a major boost in the company's statistics, finances, and the franchise itself. Sales were through the roof, and Vanderhart & Co. was deemed the most notable business in Calradia. It was so famed that kings, queens, nobles, and entire kingdoms relied on it! Nicholas often met with noblemen, royalty, and upper-class men in order to discuss major deals which would be beneficial to both the company and the customer. This era of success lasted for a long while.
At age 28, Nicholas Vanderhart immigrated to the lands of Yore. Although he was rich and very famed in the mainlands of Calradia, he wondered if he could possibly make Yore his main economic recourse area. The trees were as green as peas there, the wheat was tall and yellow, the water fresh as a newborn child, and it was predominately undisturbed. Vanderhart saw this as a business opportunity. Because of the economic value of Yore, he would be one of the first people to go there in order to claim the territory and its resources for his business. While at Yore, he was annexed into the Merchant's Guild, which was a benefactor to his business and made him a lot more money. Now, at Yore, Nicholas Vanderhart bought a rather large property so his business may function and grow from that point on. Occasionally he would have money transported to him from the mainland but his business looks as if it will not go down anytime soon. As more and more people immigrated to the lands of Yore, his business grew and grew. Nicholas had achieved his goal of making Yore a key point in his business and make the land fully under his jurisdiction. There are no other companies competing with Vanderhart & Co., and the ones that try ALWAYS fail. Now that many men and families are coming into the land, he figures the flames of war shall burn the lands. He prepares himself and his business for such an occasion and now his main priorities are weaponry, forgery, weaponry, mining, and farming so he may benefit both the people and the soldiers.
