Back in the day when i played Warband Roleplay, which was an RP'ing server on Native. They had a very fun, simple, and smart way of handling the way the Factions are.
They had four factions. The Nords, The Rhodoks, The Swadians, and the Vhegirs, They were each their own independent nations, preset in the forums, and if you wanted to join you would apply on the forums on their thread and then RP'ly join on the server. I dont think we should have anyone freely create clans on the forums to run on the server. I think we should have preset Nations, and fill in the Positions.
I honestly believe that would help out alot as far as Roleplaying, because no offense to past members of the Tinadel clan and all others similar, HCRP isnt for you, seeing Tinadels running around on the server would ruin my RP'ing experience personally and i know for a fact for many other RP'rs.
I think what is implemented now will make it all about clans beating other clans as opposed to creating fun RP , which will just end up being a metagame fest .
Please consider this.
Just my two cents.

It's not a bad idea, but having preset factions like that would remove some of the politics of the server. It would feel like no one could break out of there class. This may have been a real thing in the past but it is not good for RP.

This may have been a real thing in the past but it is not good for RP. Well, In truth it wasn't JUST these Factions, they were just the main ones. You were allowed to request to advertise your Organization that you made within the rp on the forums, so you were allowed to be in third-party groups that you yourself could make, but they did not own castles, these were just small bands or Mercenary groups, things like that.

They did the same thing for ToR as they did WRP and it worked marvelously. Yes they were there for the greater nation, but they still ran according to the style of the current leadership. When you think about it, there is no way the mini-nations that people form could actually exist when we are surrounded by actual massive kingdoms that would come in and drown them in bodies the second they tried to declare themselves independent. I will discuss this with the admin team ASAP, I have noticed all of my favorite old groups had actual preset factions, and if you took over you still ruled under the banner of your homeland.

Exactly, I really do hope we implement this.

I think this would work. Take the Tinadels for example, they are not an independent faction, only a clan from the Kingdom of the Nords. I believe that we can keep the player made factions so long as they are affiliated with one of the major kingdoms in game.

I like this ID. This could prevent division and favoritism. I'll be definitely looking into this.
