The following is a set of reminders for staff and community members.
1. It is not the staff's JOB to administrate. It is a selective volunteer position to make sure responsible people can help others out. When they are in-game, they can help, but they are by no means obligated to come online to serve everyone else unless they want to.
2. Staff have the ability to improve role-play that most players do not, and are allowed to use them. Until our economy runs perfectly, some things need provided to improve RP. I am not against staff spawning in items to get a character started. If someone wants to RP a guard or mercenary, by all means spawn the man some gear so he can play his character. That being said, do not run around throwing full plate at people, be within reason.
3. Biographies are our proof of commitment. If someone wants armor spawned, or some other gift bestowed upon them, they better have a biography. Likewise, if they want to avoid a CK, they better have a biography. If they don't have one on the forum, as far as I am concerned they are off the grid and as such reap none of it's benefits. They are throw away characters at that point.
4. Make things happen. If people are bored and have nothing to do, make a farmer character, spawn a crap ton of boars and a herding stick, and drive those annoying little ****'s right into the nearest area that has players in it. One way or another some kind of RP will result from it and people will be mildly entertained, whether it be arguing with the farmer over his herding rights, or dealing with getting mauled by boars. This is an example, and not to be done every time, but you get the idea, make things happen.
5. Have fun guys. A cranky admin is a crappy admin. If you are stressed out, just tell people you need to take a break, and ask another admin to cover you. If nobody else is around, ask the players if they are ok settling the issue later or on the forums. You being pissed off doesn't solve anyone's problems.
