Background/History:
Being the son of a bowyer, Zechariah always admired the work and attention the detail his father put into his craft. He always begged his father to tell stories of his former service to the lords of Swadia as an archer, however he would always send the young Zechariah to his room. There, he would read amazing tales of heroism and gallantry. As Zechariah began to grow older he would take to the woods with his father's War Bow he had kept from his years in service and hunt for hours on end. At times he would see other men in the woods who would steal his game, sometimes even after he had killed the animal, many times he would approach the men and continually shout and yell at them. One day when he was coming out of the woods he saw a man standing there looking at him, he knew the man was nobody of stature as his clothes suggested, yet he still said "Good day sir." as he continued on by. However the man stopped him and asked if he had been to the tavern just down the road, Zechariah explained his parents had forbidden him from going there. The man said "No matter, they'll never know." This is when Zechariah recognized his love of gambling, everyday after his hunt he would go to the tavern and wager his game for money and other items. However, even still everyday he would return to his home with many animals for his family to feast on, for this his mother was very grateful but his father continued to scold him because he knew that Zechariah would attempt to become a soldier later in his life as he would always read books about how war is about glory, however his father knew it was the opposite. This behavior continued much to his father's dismay until he was about 16. One day however when he returned home from his hunting he noticed the door was ajar, and he knew something had happened. When he entered the house what he saw shocked him, he saw his mother and father lying there on the floor in pools of their own blood. Up until that moment Zechariah had wanted to become a soldier for Swadia, now however he decided upon becoming a watchman when he was more mature, to prevent these types of crimes from being committed.
After the death of his parents, Zechariah fled to a nearby village, Glunmar. There the people of the village took him in and he worked on their fields, tending their crops, just biding his time until he could go to New Zendar to join the Watch. He worked the wheat field until he was 18 years of age. As he began to grow older his new "father" began to train him in the art of using a mace, which he had used in the defense of the village numerous times. Zechariah grew very skilled with a mace making him able to defend himself if caught in a close quarters fight, unable to use his bow.
When Zechariah became old enough to join the Watch, he bid farewell to his new family, but before he left his "father" gave him an old set of mail that he pulled out of a chest in the basement that Zechariah never dared go inside. When he handed it to Zechariah he said "Take this, it was my son's who also served in the watch but was cut down by bandits while visiting us." Zechariah thanked him and donned his new set of mail, and grabbed his War Bow from underneath his bed, as he set out to join the Valley Watch. When he arrived at New Zendar, he could already see crime running rampant. As he approached the Valley Watch headquarters he saw watchmen cut down a criminal as he tried to escape, Zechariah thirsty to get into the Watch stood in awe at how calmly they handled the situation and had no restraint when he continued to resist and eventually attempt to escape. Following the arrest he followed the Watchmen inside the headquarters where he pledged himself to the Captain of the Watch, Aoife. After a few patrols he was paired with Heinrich as a Watch partner.
Equipment: War Bow, Long Hafted Mace, Mail armor

When she recieved word, they immediately set out for Laras where the man was imprisoned as they were done being pushed around. On the way to Laras they recruited 2 Whiteforge men to aid them in case things went bad. During negotiations one of their allies form Whiteforge opened fire and the crew was quickly put down, Zechariah with 3 arrows in the arm and chest. He was then dragged into the walls of Laras where Bartholomew saw him and recognized him as a former prisoner. He was then brought into the keep in chains where a man who he knew as Ras began to torture him. Ras removed his helmet and gloves with only some resistance and he then stabbed Zechariah in the knee in keep him from resisting. He threw Zechariah onto the floor, stabbing him through both shoulders, pinning him to the ground. As he lay there helpless his fingernails were torn off from his sword hand and Ras began to move towards his face. Ras then after a glob of blood was spat at him, began to pierce his fingers into Zechariah's eyes, tearing them out thereby blinding him. As the finisher to the torture he dragged Zechariah outisde, blind and pierce a spear through him and into a tree, suspending him there for all to see.
