Coming from the upper middle-class of society and bore from a Vaegir father and a Swadian mother, Enzo grew up with enough money and wealth from the business he inherited to start lusting for more. Enzo had grown up already having decent luxuries such as high quality wine, tea, salted meat, cheeses, and many other foods that serfs would die for. Power, and being of Royal status has always been on his mind, but hadn't become transparent until recently. Enzo's first career, being a low manager within is father Ezzio's large banking network started to give Enzo the edge that he needed to become shrewd at what he does best. He had observed many lords, that had had their power rise to amazing levels and crash down upon their heads. Enzo, being a witness, has learned from their mistakes and promised to his family and newly formed band of friends, close relatives, and hired blades that he will succeed and create the Orsini dynasty. Enzo also was a witness to the other end of the social spectrum. Watching serfs and peasants work the farms right out of the city walls tirelessly, for hours upon hours with little hope of their lives improving. This concept scared Enzo; Having a ruler or overseer whip his subjects tirelessly almost to death to finish the harvest. And they were going to have to repeat the very next day. Even inside the city, death and cruel management and hardship was not uncommon, though Enzo can only imagine what really went on, because he lived in a more upper class part of the city.
When Enzo first made his way outside of the safe city walls, he didn't really know what to expect. Within the first day, he made his way to the local inn. By the end of the night, Enzo had already lost his father's sword, and armor that was handed down to him through generations when he was mugged late at night, giving him the small scar above his eye. Enzo soon opened his eyes and realized what a hostile world the Valley had become outside of the city walls. He realized travelling alone was a death sentence, and soon went back to his home town to rethink his strategy. It took many months before Enzo truly felt he was ready to leave the walls again. He could not afford to make that same fatal mistake a second time, or it might have been the death of him. He made deals, favors, and bribes to local mercenaries, statesmen, and town officials alike to pick the best possible men fit for the job of accommodating his rule. He talked to the local sergeant, learned how to sword fight much more effectively. Became the manager of the mayor's treasury inside the city for a short time to make sure he was still an adept manager. His last few months inside the city walls before he set out really shaped something inside of him. He saw nobility as the only real option for him, and gained a real disdain for the lower classes. They seemed so ignorant, weak-minded, and hopeless. If they truly wanted it, they could overrun the nobles in revolt at any moment. But never mind that. Don't want to give them any ideas.
The second run, Enzo became far more lucky. He soon opened up a small gold mining expedition with his father's fortune, with new equipment, armor and muscle to protect his cargo. Though a little turbulence was experienced getting the precious metals(thus giving Enzo the scar on his back,) it all worked out as most of the gold that Enzo set out to obtain was acquired. Along the route back towards New Zendar, Enzo met a famous hunter who taught him the ropes of hunting. How to predict the prey's movements, it's sounds, tracks, etc. Enzo quickly took up this sport as another challenge to show off his marksmanship. Enzo had also been keeping tabs on the banking business his father left behind, and realized that it had been more profitable than he had imagined. With all of the money accumulated the time was now. Enzo felt he had already reached the level of "new wealth" or recently-became-rich noble. But now he needed the "old wealth" of royalty status to assert his dominance over the region. He already made a map of how he would rule, what his troops would look like, his caste system, his ranks, which men would be in those ranks, etc. Yet the one thing he wasn't sure of was where he would rule. He quickly ordered a set of the finest Vaegir Elite lamellar armor, straight from Reyvadin (The Vaegir Capital) with tigers on each shoulder blade to commemorate the noble heritage his father had left him. Though costly, Enzo saw it as a necessary addition to his legitimacy. Upon Ezzio's deathbed, Enzo made a promise to him. That every man, woman, and child along the valley would hear the name "Orsini" and remember it's glory, power and prestige.
Ezzio's plans have been made, as he is rigging the game as we speak. Now, only the Valley has to wait to hear what Enzo Orsini has to say. And they will hear him.
